Dems Respond to Palin Speech

So overall the Dems response to the RNC speech is she was too “snarky”.  WTF is that even a word? They are also saying she didn’t address healthcare, social security or economy (except for the energy issue).  I can only assume that if she would’ve spent more time on those topics they ‘d be complaining that she didn’t discuss energy enough and that she didn’t seem strong enough.

Honestly, sometimes I wonder how the same speech is interpreted so extremely differently.  She was very clear about everything she said and surely we will hear more about healthcare and social security as the campaign moves forward.

Sarah Palin Gives the Speech of Her Life

The Republican National Convention was the stage for Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin to address the country and convince them why she is qualified to run for office just as much as the next man. And that she did. She came out strong and did not stumble, even though she knew there was criticism out there on a massive scale regarding her capabilities should John McCain not be able to complete his term.
To the naysayers, here is why Sarah Palin is qualified and has enough experience to serve us as the first woman Vice President tour country has ever seen.

These are the things that stood out most to me from her speech tonight.

  • She is a strong, passionate person who knows how to serve her country and put people first.
  • She has experience in the energy crisis and knows first hand what the resources are that we have in our country and how and what we need to do to use them.
  • She is against wasteful spending and has vetoed almost half a million dollars in spending that wasn’t in the best interest of the people.
  • She is ethical and stands by her political decisions on a personal level. She sold the Governor’s jet on Ebay for 21.1 million dollars because she viewed it as something she didn’t need.
  • She has spearheaded building the largest private sector project of building a $40 million natural gas pipeline that will get us on the road to energy independence.
  • She knows that true reform is hard to achieve, but knows how to put control back in the hands of the people.
  • She doesn’t give a crap about what reporters and commentators are saying, she wants to go to Washington to serve the people of this country and challenge the status quo.
  • She has a strong focus on the common good, integrity and a servants heart.
  • She believes in John McCain which shows that she is a team player and will fight together to achieve change.
  • She has a strong support system within her family and will serve as a friend and advocate for parents of special needs children in the white house.
  • She understands what it is like to run a family on a budget and admits that her family is just like everyone else’s.
  • She has conviction and a calmness to her that exudes power and strength.

I could go on and on, she is a powerful woman and has what it takes to step into the position of Vice President. They are a strong duo that together will lead us out of the Iraq war with a victory and into energy independence.

Bristol Palin Pregnancy

Internet rumors spread quickly over the past few days stating that Sarah Palin lied about her son Trig’s pregnancy and implied that Trig was actually her grandson and that Bristol was the one who had given birth to him.  There were pictures shown of Bristol with what appeared to be a baby pump.

Today Sarah Palin told media that in fact Trig is her son, not her grandson, but that they can add grandmother to her long list of titles.  It is true in fact that Sarah Palin’s 17 year old daughter Bristol is pregnant and due in December.  The Palin’s are proud of their daughter’s decision to keep they baby.

Here is the statement released today:
“Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we
knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re
proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become
grandparents,” Sarah and Todd Palin said in the brief statement.

“Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize
very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they
will have the love and support of our entire family.”

Palin Statement

Statement released on August 29, 2008

“It is the honor of my life to represent you as your Governor, and over the next two months I will continue to do so. As the mother of five, I know how to multi-task, and I will continue to promote the path of reform that we set out on together in the state of Alaska.”

“It is a great privilege to be John McCain’s running mate and to be considered by the American people for the Vice Presidency. This honor is a testament to the reforms and progress we have made together in Alaska. Now is the time to take that spirit of reform to Washington.”

About Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin’s parents both worked in the school system.  Her mother (Sarah) was a school secretary and her father (Charles) was a science teacher and also coached track.  Her ancestry is European (English, German and Irish).  She and her family are huge outdoor enthusiasts and she is a hunter with her favorite meal said to be moose stew.

She received a scholarship in 1984 that helped her pay her school tuition at the University of Idaho where she graduated with a BS in Journalism.  Her scholarship was given to her after placing second in Miss Alaska Beauty Pageant where she lost to Maryline Blackburn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryline_Blackburn).

She married Todd Palin (high school sweetheart) and they have been married for 20 years.  They have five children, 2 boys and 3 girls. Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig.  Her oldest (Track) joined the Army on September 11, 2007.  A year later he will be deployed to Iraq.  Palin gave birth to her last child Trig on April 18, 2008 with the full awareness that he would be born with down syndrome.  Her acceptance of his condition after prenatal genetic testing is a testament to her pro-life commitment.

She is a favorite amongst the governors and the youngest woman to ever run in a Presidential election.  She is a man’s woman and a woman’s woman.  She has everything going for her and a great pick by John Mccain.
